UnLtd to build on social investment work with new appointment
New Director to take early stage, fast growth ventures to new heights, supporting talented social entrepreneurs with UnLtd
Julie Devonshire, former CEO of The One Foundation joins UnLtd as Director of Ventures
Julie has over 20 years experience working across sectors, specialising in business development. Julie joins UnLtd from Oxfam Trading, one of the most significant social trading projects in the UK. Here Julie created and delivered a strategy to boost trading profits to help fund Oxfam’s world-class development work. Prior to this Julie was COO of award-winning social venture One, and then CEO of The One Foundation. One sold a range of products in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and others, donating 100% of the profits to fund life-changing projects in Africa. One made and donated £5.2m in its first five years of trading and won numerous social enterprise awards.
Julie joins UnLtd in January 2013 as Director of Ventures and will be leading on UnLtd’s work to support high growth social entrepreneurs, further developing their social investment programme.

I have been involved with UnLtd for a number of years as a judge and as a mentor and have been blown-away by the people that I have met. UnLtd’s programmes have delivered much success and I can’t wait to see if I can evolve them, supporting the exceptional talent already working with UnLtd whilst striving to attract the best future talent too.”
The UnLtd Ventures team are currently supporting the social entrepreneurs selected for the Big Venture Challenge, which has seen co-investment deals worth £1.5million, as well as seeing an average 29% growth in revenue and 22% growth in numbers of beneficiaries reached by the winners.
