The 2010 Social Enterprise World Forum takes place in San Francisco on April 28th – April 30th 2010.
CEiS is organising a group of social enterprise leaders in the UK to participate in a specialised study tour incorporating the World Forum and 4-5 days of social enterprise visits in San Francisco and Seattle. The draft programme is attached and includes details of the World Forum and visits to outstanding social enterprises in two of the leading social enterprise cities in the World.
This programme will allow UK participants an unrivalled opportunity to spend quality time with UK and international colleagues and the networking is often a highlight of week-long programmes. Group discussion will be facilitated by John Bennett, Chair of the Welsh Social Enterprise Coalition and MD of the 2009 UK Small Social Enterprise of the Year, Pack-It.
The programme cost is £3,270 plus vat for 8 days including enterprise visits, SEWF registration, flights, accommodation and meals. There are no bursaries for this programme and expressions of interest are required by February 28th.
The Seattle visit commences with an international forum with Kitchens with Mission/FareStart, possibly the most successful social enterprise restaurant and catering business in the world and completely unmissable if your business is in the food industry. The social enterprises in the programme include those operating in youth employment, alternatives to custody, fulfilment, disability employment, housing, drug dependency and homelessness.
The UK group will have up to 12 places and we wish to identify potential participants as soon as possible. To book a place or for any further information please get in touch by phone or email.
