Social enterprise and commissioners: a partnership for the future?

Social entrepreneurs and commissioners are invited to meet face-to-face and discuss each other's priorities, aspirations and challenges at a free half-day conference on Friday 17th September.

The conference, organised by Red Ochre and Business Links in London will be an opportunities to discuss the recent changes in the commissioning landscape and how this affects both social enterprises and those who commission them.

Social Entrepreneurs who have won contracts in the public sector will be sharing their journeys and discussing the barriers they overcame to access the contracts.

Commissioners from a range of sectors (NHS, Local Authority, Youth Services) will talk about their work, their experience of dealing with social enterprises and about how to become a fit for purpose supplier.

Confirmed speakers include:

- Mo Girach, Special Advisor to the NHS Alliance and Associate Consultant at the Kings Fund

- Michael Stokes, Head of Strategic Procurement at the London Development Agency and

- Doug Forbes, Chair of the Institute of Commissioning Professionals (IoCP)

Experienced facilitators will run break out sessions around specific topics, including how to access contracts opportunities and how to overcome the main challenges facing social enterprise.
