Enfuse Youth, a London-based social enterprise, is launching its first campaign entitled ‘Enfuse London’ this month, which aims at changing the lives of young people lacking the advice and resources that will equip them to make right career choices.
The organisation, founded by young entrepreneur, Andre Campbell, will be visiting London schools taking part in the scheme to inspire young people to turn their career ideas into reality. Successful young entrepreneurs and intrepreneurs will tell how they turned their enthusiasm into dream careers during specifically designed workshops that will impart career guidance, personal development and employability skills to over 1,500 young Londoners over five months.
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, expressed his support.
"In times of economic hardship, entry to the job market is daunting and challenging. That's why it's crucial that programmes such as Enfuse London provide guidance for young people to get a foot in the door and ultimately find the job of their dreams. Through encouragement, motivation and inspiration, this scheme will change the lives of young people across London. I'm delighted to give it my full support."
Andre Campbell, Founder of Enfuse Youth, said: “We need to take action now to avert a lost generation. Careers advice needs to be shaken up and implemented at a younger age, if we are to decrease youth unemployment. Young people have a fundamental right to discover what makes them unique and be supported through an integrated approach to turn ideas into a reality. Enfuse London is a powerful part of the solution.”
Workshops will present an opportunity for young people to receive a grant of up to £5,000 grant for enterprising projects, courtesy of UnLtd and a range of banking support provided by Barclays.
‘Live UnLtd are supporting Enfuse London because we think it is really important that young people are inspired to realise their potential, particularly given the current youth employment market,' said Abby Kegg, Live UnLtd's Partnerships Manager. 'Young people have the opportunity and ability to take control of their own futures and we see social enterprise as a great route to achieve this.’
