Blackburne House Group is one of the first eight organisations around the world to receive the Women’s Business Centre (WBC) Quality Standard on an international level.
Bestowed upon the organisation at the prestigious North West Women in Business Awards on Friday 29th January, the accreditation recognises the support that Blackburne House gives to Female Entrepreneurs across the North West region.
The WBC Quality Standard was created to ensure a world-class standard and performance framework for Women's Business Centres which will support and drive the growth of women-owned enterprises in the United Kingdom, and contribute to the development of women's enterprise internationally.
Brava Design, based at Blackburne House, has been highlighted as one of the key organisations within the Group that has added value to the services recognised by this accreditation. Brava Design is a creative social enterprise that provides innovative graphic and web design services, as well as running design related courses for Women.
Jo McGrath, Enterprise Director of Blackburne House Group, said: “The Blackburne House Group is incredibly honoured to receive such a distinguished recognition which celebrates the part the Group and its partners have made in supporting women in business. We strive to ensure that female entrepreneurs are given the support needed to set up, grow and inevitably become socially, economically and environmentally sustainable.”
Stephanie Hosny, Business Manager at Brava Design, said: “Being recognised alongside the Blackburne House Group for our work with Women Entrepreneurs is incredibly rewarding. As a social enterprise, at Brava we strive to create jobs in this tough industry and the training we deliver certainly helps female entrepreneurs gain a fantastic insight and knowledge into the industry.”
