And a moments pause

Having just returned from my (relaxing) summer break, I was rudely met with a London underground strike and the ensuing travel chaos. A combination that was as much jolting as it was brutalising. Perhaps less is more? I need a holiday...

As I sat reading and sun bathing, I have to admit that I couldn’t remember being quite so tired in a very long time. I caught the obligatory cold, no doubt a combination of the airplane trip and the general state of my run-down-ness; I literally crawled into the break.

I was hoping to be inspired by what might be next in our adventure, but I’m not even sure if did too much reflecting. More a state of being comatose, where eating and sleeping and drying out my bones in the sun was as much as I could muster.

These are the books I took:

A.C Grayling’s – What is good

Mark Earl’s – Herd

Eric Walter Frederick Tomlin’s - The western philosophers, an introduction

All worth a read if you get a chance. I also managed to go over a paper I’m writing that summarises our approach. The working title is Esse, as in 'being'. I believe passionately that developing one’s being is at the heart of success and is central to our work. I’ve been kicking it around for a while; it is improving, but slowly...

It’s been the most extraordinary whirlwind this year, culminating to a drop to Downing Street. If you haven’t watched the interview with Huw Edwards here it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCl7WQyqm20

I’m back in London for a couple of days and then turn around for a business and friendship wine tasting trip to Burgundy...more on that later.
