SE MAGAZINE: Issue 94 April 11

As you will read in the blurb to your right, or here in our message from the editor, things are changing at Social Enterprise. This issue - issue 94 - is the last in the magazine's current printed format. We're moving the mag to a fully online format and bringing out regular specialist printed publications on specific areas of interest. But until then...

In this issue:

  • Get off our land - community management could be an alternative to selling publicowned assets
  • Big Issue Invest's Nigel Kershaw explains his plans for the future
  • Lunch with... KPMG's head of climate change and sustainability
  • Whitehall says it will look again at the Future Jobs Fund. Does it know what it's looking for?
  • Liam Black on lessons from the Yunus controversy
  • SEC's Peter Holbrook sets out his vision for the membership organisation
  • Co-operative housing and hay bales is the subject of Deal Q&A
  • The localism bill is under the microscope in Expert Eye
  • The CIC View looks at social business insurance
  • And we bring you some tip top reviews, from food to fair trade candle holders
Not one, but FIVE features!

The April issue of the magazine celebrates conference season in style with five features on the BIG issues of the day. We've got woodlands and waterways following the headline news of asset sales, we've got Kershaw explaning why Big Issue Invest is going back in time to become a merchant bank with a £35m-£50m listed fund to invest in social business and we've got Peter Holbrook talking about changes afoot for the Social Enterprise Coalition, AND MORE!

Grab a copy of the magazine or read the features here on Social Enterprise Live.

Social Enterprise is changing

Social entrepreneurs in all their guises are seeking to increase their impact as a growing movement of multinationals look beyond their immediate bottom line and see value in creating meaningful social business at scale and more NGOs look to social business as a model of sustainability.

At the convergence of these worlds, collaboration and innovation thrive, resulting in scalable social business that delivers social change and profit in equal measure.

We are developing www.SocialEnterpriselive.com in response to this trend.

What’s on offer for our members?

Inspiring news and stories from across the world of social innovation

Select analysis from those at the forefront of the field

A network of change-makers, learning from each other to improve their efficacy and impact

We have taken the bold decision to move away from our print format and to put our resources, energy and passion into developing our online magazine. But we're not leaving print forever - we'll be producing a series of printed specialist publications and reports for our members.
