Social Enterprise is committing £1,850 in investments and donations to mark the launch of our new website, www.socialenterpriselive.com
To celebrate our website relaunch, we decided to help a number of organisations committed to social justice through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Publisher Tim West said: 'We want to put out money where our mouth is and take a lead in promoting social investment. So we have decided to make investments of £500 each in Wessex Community Assets and London Rebuilding Society.
'We are also making donations that are close to the hearts of the team who built the site - £500 to Julia's House Children's Hospice in Dorset, and a £200 donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
'An amount of £150 will be made to the Drupal Association, which represents the community-driven, "open source" content management platform that provided the brainpower and infrastructure behind the new website.'
Social Enterprise magazine will continue to promote social investment through a range of initiatives. These include the Good Deals Social Investment Conference, scheduled this year for 29 October, the Good Deals Almanack, due out this summer, and the RBS SE100 Index - our ongoing index of growth and impact measurement.
