Childcare can be an expensive business...just ask any parent! But flexible childcare at a time you need it and the place you want it can be a boon to your organisation or event, says Caroline Richardson, co-ordinator of AMF Mobile Creche

According to the Office for National Statistics in January 2008 only 42 per cent of three and four year olds in the south east of England were enrolled in some type of Early Years setting, compared to 81 per cent in the north east.

While the proportion of women in employment has seen a marked rise over the past 40 years from 56 per cent (in 1971) to 70 per cent (in the three months to December 2008), it would seem childcare remains a problem for many due to the disparity between working families and available childcare. Not only does this impact on the individual but also on the wider community like the employers and service providers who bear the brunt of unforeseen absenteeism or low turnout because of childcare problems.

At A Moveable Feast (AMF) Mobile Creche we believe we hold the answer. We are different to other childcare solutions because we are able to provide high quality childcare at any time of the day on any day of the week, in a venue to suit you.

The crèche sessions can last up to four hours per child, for as many children as you need care for, for children aged nought to eight years.

AMF Mobile crèche operates as a social enterprise and our crèche team receive training as part of our community programme, where we facilitate opportunities for local women to gain accredited Level 2 and/or 3 in childcare, therefore contributing to local area regeneration.

By outsourcing all of your childcare needs to us, we save you considerable costs by doing all the labour intensive work such as booking reputable workers, organising play equipment, insurance and operating with statutory compliance.

Ploughing your way through the legal requirements can be a minefield not to mention the hours spent in organisation rather than concentrating on your own business.

Our team are multi-lingual and understand the needs for English, Bangladeshi, African and Arab families. We comply fully with OFSTED and operate within a framework of current policies and procedures and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

AMF Mobile Creche opened in September 2008 as part of the A Moveable Feast programme which promotes healthy living among south Westminster residents through a wide range of activities such as healthy eating workshops, social activities, physical activities, business support and facilitation of childcare training.

For a young enterprise we have managed to fill a niche in the market and cultivate a good reputation for ourselves as market leaders.
