Latest SE100 Index
  • THE NORTH OF ENGLAND

The full RBS SE100 Index is published annually and you can explore the latest results, published in June 2010, here.

While the full 2010/11 results will not be known and published until June 2011, each month Social Enterprise magazine gives an update on the progress of the index by highlighting the statistics gathered so far in different regions of the UK.

This month it was a case of the WAR OF THE ROSES as we took a look at the results so far for the North West, North East and Yorkshire and Humber.

The results so far are surprising. It seems that social enterprises in Yorkshire and the Humber are really taking off, posting stellar growth figures - especially compared with the results of last year where Yorks and Humber was the slowest growing of the northern regions. However, it is still early days and we expect the statistics to change as more organisations join the 2010/11 Index.

Interestingly, the North West has maintained and improved its position as the impact leader not only in the north but in all of the UK. No doubt this is influenced by the good example set by certain leaders in the region like the FRC Group, which last year was crowed RBS SE100 Impact Champion, you can read more about them here.

One of the fastest growers in the north is the Doncaster West Development Trust and you can read more about them here.

Please note that this year's sample size is still small and developing. These are only interim results to give a sense of where the statistics may be headed and are not official RBS SE100 data. The correct statistics will not be released until the RBS SE100 Data Report 2011 is published. To read the current data report click here.
