How It Works
The RBS SE100 Index works by collecting information about the following areas in a central database:
- Who you are and what you do (including legal structure and management and market information)
- Financial - including your annual turnover for the last three years (not including VAT) *
- Social impact
Each month a top five list showing annual growth, turnover and social impact for a different geographic region of the UK will be published. The index is ongoing and you can sign up or nominate at any time.
When you've filled in your details we'll let you know where you are in the leader board. And at the end of the year we'll publish a list of key statistics and sector leaders, with special awards for your growth and social impact champions.
Entry criteria
Any organisation that classes itself as a social enterprise is welcome to enter the RBS SE100 Index. However, the survey requires transparency on legal structure and sources of income, both of which will be used to assess whether an organisation is a bona fide social business.
All social businesses are eligible to join the RBS SE100 index, however to qualify for the top prizes, entrants must have at least three years of accounts and must be willing to provide copies of those accounts on request. For those organisations which are less than three years old and therefore do not have three years of accounts, entry to the index is still welcome and entrants will be entitled to compete for the Trailblazing Newcomer Award.
* By turnover, we mean the figure for turnover as reported in the most recent set of formal financial accounts. If you are in any doubt, your accountant should be able to advise you about the figures you should give. You can also email us at se100@societymedia.co.uk and we will help answer any queries. Below, there is also space to for you to provide an explanation of your income over the year and a breakdown of your turnover (earned income, grants, loans, etc).
